I had to prepare myself for this book because I knew it was going to have a significant impact on me. While this book is sad and discusses grief, it also was comforting and a sign of hope. This book is based on real places and events, and even though the characters are fictional, the grief they experience feels incredibly real. This story is very character-based and can appear to move slowly at times, but the development of the characters is the key to this book. This book was simply, but beautifully written, and it allows for reflection on how personal grief can be while also exploring the universality of it. I personally found this book very impactful, and it will be on my mind for a long time. I would recommend this book for anyone how has or who is experiencing grief.
