I was sucked into this wild ride on the messiest hot mess express I’ve ever been on. I’m still processing parts of what I read. But I’ll admit, I had a really hard time putting it down.
This book is not perfect, but it’s full of name play, puns, and outrageous storylines. I laughed a lot reading this, I even found myself doing quick research on a couple of things because this book has me second guessing myself at times.
My favorite character was Mycroft. I wouldn’t mind having some of his inventions in our current world today. I really liked Tuesday, and her work ethic. The “main” story line was a bit long to get into but once it did I loved it as well.
What I didn’t like was the ending. It fell flat for me, and just didn’t fit into the wild ride we had strapped into throughout the rest of the book. I know this is a series so I understand this ending might attribute the the rest of the books, but still.
I also didn’t care for the villain. All of the excitement and thrills at having met one of the OG villains in literature and mythology soon ran its course when his true personality was shown. It didn’t fit with the villain that I know from other works, and I didn’t like his character at all. His character in this book was a lost potential.
But what do I know? Jack Schitt. Because I’m not an author, just a reader.
