I read this book for the first time in secondary school, and still as a university student I reach for it to reread. Not only do the characters grow before us but for me they are deeply relatable and yet the time period makes me realise how much and yet how little has changed in the west over the last few decades. One of my favourite books I've read and will continue to read.
