Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
3.0

'Mansfield Park' was the last of Jane Austen's novels on my to-read list and finally I have managed it. I'm not quite sure why it has taken so long for this title to join the others, after all I am a big fan of all of her other novels (torn between 'Persuasion' and 'Pride and Prejudice' as a favourite).

I enjoyed the book immensely. Although at times the pace slows, it really makes you feel the pains which Fanny Price goes through. The choices she has to make and the limitations which press upon her.

I definitely think a second reading of this book is necessary as it is one where upon another reading many of the more serious themes are not present until a second reading has been attempted.

Not my favourite Austen but a great read, quick, comforting and thought provoking at every turn!
