I liked this more than Persephone's story. The plot is more interesting, and shows more of the gods, which is nice. But it's also good to see Hades's POV. I liked seeing how he also struggles with emotions. He's worse than Persephone in expressing them actually. I really like his relationship with Hecate. She's a great wing woman.
I still think he's stupid in how he didn't take care of Minthe long ago. He has so much more patience than I expected him to have.
This should be treated entirely as bonus content for book 1. I don't think you can read this before reading the main book. There's too much of Persephone that isn't mentioned in this book to read it as a standalone. I think I only like this as much as I do because I read Persephone's first. In a way, the two books complement each other.
