I really can't understand why this book is so hyped up. YA Fantasy is my favorite genre, and after reading a lot of YA Fantasy books, I really think this book is just boring.
When I started reading the book I was excepting more than I got, and maybe this is my mistake. This book is just so talked about that I was sure it'll be so so much better. I expected an amazing plot, but I got really plain character and zero emotional attachment.
I really don't like Mare, her character is so dramatic. Actually, I'm pretty sure I didn't liked most of the characters, and the writing style wasn't my favorite either. The "big plot twist" everyone was talking about wasn't so shocking, and it felt like a generic, non interesting, YA Fantasy book.
Did I liked the book? I was nice, but that's it. I was expecting more.
