I like Cass Khaw's work! This is a short little story about a noir detective solving crimes in a not-yet-gentrified neighborhood, where the wiggly tentacles and eyes of the deep lovecraftian monsters have begun to infect the world. Keeps up the visceral language, a linguistic delight if you like a noir flair.
