Read as part of Night School Bar reading group, with class discussion. I was surprised at how relatable this novel was in terms of Emma’s restlessness with her daily activities, and yearning for something new but being unsatisfied each time she tries. Flaubert’s style is incredible, although exhausting at times, and the Lydia Davis translation was stunning.
