Beauty and the Reclusive Millionaire by Rachael Stewart

4.0

5 Word Review: Fame, fortune, love, forgiveness, belonging.

Can I go to a private Greek island please? And just... Relax? This story had me sighing so much, in the best of ways.

I'm a sucker for a Beauty and the Beast inspired story anyway, but I thought that Beauty and the Reclusive Millionaire by Rachael Stewart was marvellously done. I liked how modern it was, how it played with the forced proximity storyline. You won't find any beasts here, Alaric is much more of an angsty inner-torture hero, but you will find an excellent take on a familiar theme.

I liked the way they kind of danced around their shared past and their attraction for each other, and how their personalities could clash at times. It helped drive the passion and made the ending when it all settled all the more satisfying.

And that forced proximity? It turned up the heat! The sexual tension between Catherine and Alaric was incredible. That they couldn't avoid each other properly on the beautiful island really amped everything up and drove the pace at an astonishing speed.

Rachael Stewart is a favourite for a reason, and I can't wait to see what they write next.
