The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

2.0

I have mixed feelings about this book. I am so happy that a humanist narrative has emerged about the people of Afghanistan, and that the story touches on important themes of classism and racism. This book is so well-intentioned, and I love that. At the same time, it's flat. The characters are not believable. It's too clean and too simple. But I am glad people are reading and discussing it.
