This was my first book in the Spade Hotel series although this was a standalone I think you always benefit from reading all the books in the series. So I felt like I was missing a piece of the puzzle. Nonetheless this is a great book. Addy was dancing at a strip club that Ridge was at to celebrate the bachelor if an upcoming wedding. Ridge did not want to be there and wasn’t really enjoying himself until he saw Addy. He was immediately smitten and attracted to her. He wanted to go into a private room so that he could get to know her better. Addy was reluctant (it was only her 3rd shift at the club)but he seemed nice and he was willing to pay for the pleasure of her company all night. In fact they left the club and went to a restaurant to talk and get to know each other better over ramen. In fact they were enjoying each other so much they decide to spend the night together. Imagine their surprise when they discover they are in a forbidden relationship. I went in blind and I was tickled pink when I found out. Ridge is such patient man, a great loving father who clearly is willing to bend over backwards for Addy. Now Addy is tough, independent woman who likes to take care of her own personal issues. She’s hard working and dedicated. These two were a match made in heaven. I found this to be a sweet, lighthearted romance book.
