The Obsidian Tower
by Melissa Caruso
mysterious
tense
slow-paced
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
No
Diverse cast of characters:
Complicated
The pacing is lopsided, and for all its length, I feel like I know none of the characters better than I did when they were first introduced. It's also a major pet peeve of mine to not wrap up the primary plot of the book in the book, and when 17 pages from the end it became obvious that was going to happen...I really almost DNF'd then and there. With only 17 pages to go.
