For what is a relatively short book this took me a LONG time to get through. Constantly re-reading passages to make sure I understood what was happening, and even then I don't think I did half the time. it's incredibly dense and uses a lot of flowery/made up language, often with almost no context or explanation. I almost felt like I shouldn't really be giving this one a rating yet, as it definitely seems like the first part of one whole book... But I think I enjoyed it?? I can kinda see why this has become a fantasy/sci-fi classic and I'm intrigued to read the rest. So much mystery and hints of bigger things within the world that I'm assuming will be mostly answered as the wider story goes on.
I'll probably end up reading the rest slowly over the course of this year... At least in my case, it certainly is one of those books you need to take a break from and ruminate on instead of binging the entire series in all one go - I'm certain each book in itself would benefit from multiple re-reads too!

I feel exhausted after that. Time to read something a little more lighthearted! 😅
