Archangel's Heart by Nalini Singh

5.0

~I received a copy from Hachette NZ and willingly reviewed it~

The deadly Archangel's of China, Lijuan is rumoured to be dead or in the deep sleep of angels. A mysterious order called the Luminata call for a Cadre meeting to decide the fate of her territory, which is beginning to fall to bloodlust. Accompanying her archangel, Elena Deveraux finds nothing but unease and secrets in Lumia as she tries to find a connection to her maternal side.

Archangel's Heart is much like book one, Angel's Heart. if you remove all the other elements, it is but another story of Elena, Guild Hunter and more. Visiting Lumia, located in Morocco gives Elena the chance to explore her unusual complexion, such as her white blonde hair. Something sets Elena on edge as she searches, giving her the sense that she must lie or risk her life.

Raphael's abilities are further explored, Tasha is honour bound to help Elena with translations, the Cadre of Ten make some important decisions... This all happens in Archangel's Heart. Each book in the Guild Hunter series is a large stepping stone, progress towards the final destination which is yet to be revealed. Archangel's Heart certainly is one of the best books in the series so far, with heaps of development involving angelic history, customs and character facts.

This book also showcases Aodhan in a small subtle way, yet I suspect he may never get his own book. Archangel's Heart will set your very own mortal heart pounding against your chest as you worry about the fates of Elena and her friends/family.
