Daughter of No Worlds

I enjoyed this so much better than Sarah J. Maas' writing. These characters were more dimensional, sophisticated, complex, dark, human and likeable. The romance wasn't my favorite part but it wasn't grating or unbelievable like it usually is for me. This time it was tolerable with occasional enjoyment. The real world concepts of PTSD, abuse survivors, how violence in early development changes people, how war affects people, etc. were genuine and while not profound, still went sufficiently deep to avoid superficiality. Vividly descriptive, the movie crew of my mind loved this story!
Sex scenes were easy to skip over, lots of swearing to the point of annoyance though. Obviously lots of violence with slavery and war themes in fantasy settings.
