I read this book for school, and it was a great one. I love Mildred Taylor's style of writing, and it seems very believable. When an event happens, it is almost as if you are there, with the Logans. The descriptions in the book are so vivid. To me, the words were a little difficult, but that is what a dictionary is for! I would certainly recommend this book to any middle school-er. This content is probably too much for elementary school level, especially all the things whites did to the blacks, at that time period.
