A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe by Alex White

4.0

Lots of fun! Great characters, lots of kinetic action, and some of my favorite plot points: lost mystery ships and epic conspiracies. The dialogue is only okay and the combination of magic and science fiction, while unique, never stopped feeling jarring to me, and I wish the magic system was explained, like, at all, instead of just working in a hand-wavy kind of way. But these are relatively minor gripes in a novel this propulsive and fun.
