Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.

I read about 25% of this book and couldn't manage to read any more. Some of the characters felt more like caricatures and stereotypes rather than a fully fleshed out character. The only description I can come up with for the writing is "trite." I loved the premise of the book but found it lacking in execution.
