Cinnamon Skin by John D. MacDonald
3.0

The good news is that McGee's indestructible sidekick Meyer figures heavily in the plot, which is always good for the story. I thought this one dragged a bit, as the duo travel to Texas, upstate New York and Mexico to find those responsible for the explosion on Meyer's boat that killed his niece. In typical MacDonald fashion, the climax and conclusion happen near the very end of the book, and it's a bit of work to get there. Not as much action in the bulk of the story as some of the other books. But as always the settings and characterizations are so good that it's still a pleasure to read.

Finishing this, I realize that the final book in the series is next. That will be a bittersweet moment. Travis has provided some great entertainment over the last few years. We will see....
