An Apprenticeship, or the Book of Pleasures
by Clarice Lispector
I took my time reading it, although it was a short book, because it was the closest a book has ever come to knowing me. I thought "The Idiot" was the most like me a character had ever been, and then I met Lori. She asks all the questions I think and she does the hard things (that I have yet to do) and I feel so inspired to live. Almost too personal of a book to recommend to others, but I think my best friend (who's falling in love as I write) might enjoy it and for her I shall risk bearing my soul
