The Intern
by Marni Mann
The Intern is a scorching enemies-to-lovers romance with a little bit of everything: workplace tension, age gap, familial friendships, and a health dose of steam.
Hannah and Declan do not get along when they meet (again) as intern and boss. Enemies is a strong way of putting it, for me--Declan is angry, curt, and insufferable, but his ire, though often directed toward Hannah, is a product of his tightly-held, yet fraying, self control to stay away from Hannah. After all, she's the younger sister AND cousin of his friends...who run the law firm they both work at. Hannah is smart, competent, and confident: all traits that drew Declan to her before he knew her last name. Now, with her off-limits as ever, he resorts to taking out his temper on anyone around, which happens to be, most often, Hannah. With so many older brothers and a promising law career though, Hannah is not one to back down, no matter how much of a jerk Declan turns out to be.
Special callout to brownies, apple cupcakes, and the cutest little cousin.
