this book was so artfully written and i feel bad saying i didn't expect that coming from an actress's memoir. the audiobook is especially lovely. her diction is maybe the sharpest and most gorgeous i've ever heard, almost shakespearean and just shy of the early 20th century 'transatlantic' movie stars. she wields her stage training along with a very special sense of humor to create a unique mode of storytelling, all while reminding us how complicated it is to have parents.
