I’m just so bored I started to skim everything except for the descriptions of the food and music. The characters and plot fall flat (except for Xue’s gay uncle [RIP]) and whilst being inspired by Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, Six Realms has none of the creeping realisation or uncanny valley elements that make it gripping.
