Of Moons and Monsters by Willow Hadley
4.0
Interesting take, a lot of the details are well-done.
Several elements weren’t my favourite, but they made a lot of sense in the context of the story—author really seems to have put thought into the situations and logical courses of action/emotions that would result.
A bit too insta-love, and Isla is too materialistic for my liking, and also pretty shallow, but it fits with her past and her other better traits more than balance out her personality. Don’t love the whine/pout tendencies, but it’s actually a pretty common/east way to communicate specific emotions/needs when you don’t speak the language.
Author has clearly lived in a foreign country without speaking the native language.
A little worried about the ending and whether her men will hide what they’ve found out about Alistair from her ‘for her own good’ but will have to read more to see. Will definitely read book 2.
