This is the second of three books in The Vampire Chronicles series. The Vampire Lestat was introduced in Interview With The Vampire. In The Vampire Lestat, Lestat tells his story. It is written as an autobiography. It starts in the current time as of the book's publication. It quickly goes back around 200 years to the period before Lestat was turned into a vampire. He was part of a noble family in France that had fallen on hard times. Lestat was a great hunter who helped keep the family afloat. He was taken for granted by the other family members except for his mother. He longed to get out of the life he was born into to something greater. The story goes from there to the present day. I enjoyed this book a lot.
