This Is How We Do It is an excellent book which shows the daily lives of seven children who live in different countries across the world.
The author shows the activities of the children in a typical day.We get an insight into the family,foood,culture,education,recreation etc.The illustrations are pleasant to look at and my favorite part of the book was the food and various games the children played.
The end of the book has photographs of the real families this book is based on.That was a nice touch since I assumed that this was a work of fiction in the beginning.However,I would have liked to see a more diverse family set up in this book since it is quite common in some countries for several family members to live under the same roof as a joint family.We see only nuclear families in the book.
This book is apt for kindergarten and elementary school students and stresses the fact that even though we may live in different parts of the world,we are similar in human nature.
