Hello, Earth!: Poems to Our Planet by Joyce Sidman

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

1.5

This wasn't a personal favorite, mainly because I didn't think the poetry was particularly well-written or impactful. Very little imagery was used, which is my favorite type of poetry. It is basically a series of poems/letters/prayers? written to Earth from "humanity". It is fairly broad rather than specific, which is another issue that I had with the poetry--in my opinion, poetry works better with small details and moments rather than general and generic ones, which this book focused on. Is this mostly personal preference? Yes, but I think that there are better picture books out there to talk about the earth and humanity's role with it.
