I received this beautiful book, with such a gorgeous cover, as an ARC from Bloomsbury Publishing and I’m so honoured that I’ve gotten to experience it before its official release in August!
An English translation of a popular Korean vampire novel, this was more than just fangs and wooden stakes.
The author, Seon-Ran, explored the world of loneliness experienced by all, but namely those sadly suffering from Alzheimer’s/Dementia. This isolation was discussed in such a real way and, as someone who has witnessed a loved one go through this heartbreaking illness, it was touching to read.
It was also a most wonderful story about love, about finding someone who you deeply connect with and sharing your world with them.
It took a couple of chapters for me to really get into it, but I loved exploring this tale through its three different narratives, and subsequently falling into it upon a certain character’s introduction!
I urge you all to pick up a copy when it comes out. 🧛🏻♀️
Also, a shout out to my bestie for helping me with the name pronunciations, it really helped me get into the tale more and feel way more confident talking about to it! 🧡
