Abaddon's Gate by James S.A. Corey

4.0

This part of the series is where it could fall apart or get me really hooked and this one did the latter. You get some payoffs from some earlier books in this one including one whom we thought might be gone. The series has a lot of regular tropes in it so some might find it annoying especially since it is so long, but it manages to come back around because the characters are so strong and you get a lot of small details in how they think and move that brings them to life.

Even in the descriptions of how someone is moving or processing stay unique even though many times you are getting a type of pause. I've never thought about how important those can be for story purposes. All of the maneuvering and political machinations continue and I had to pace myself to not rush to get to the next book when I was finished.
