I love the Wicked Earls series and this one lived up to my expectations. Smith writes strong and compelling characters that are easy to fall in love with and pull for. You want her characters to find their HEA and Gillian and James are no different. They have been through difficult times in their lives and are the stronger for it. They are well developed – strong, stubborn, and smart characters.
There was a character that I was expecting to play a bigger role in the story than they did, given what they did do for the time they were on the page. I was hoping for some sort of conclusion to their action, otherwise they didn’t feel necessary.
I listened to this on audio and the narrator did a decent job. They didn’t add or takeaway from my enjoyment of the story.
