Pretty Boy is one of those books I could happily reread again and again. Brianna Flores nails the dynamic between Liam and Bash in a way that’s both sweet and scorching.
Liam thinks he’s straight, until he finds himself wildly attracted to Bash, the 6’4, tattooed, scowly trainer at the gym. Bash only does casual, one-night stands. No strings, no clinginess. And yet, he’s about to fall for the clingiest, clingy boy ever.
Liam is so soft, sweet, and precious, you just can’t help but adore him. I loved how quickly he went from “straight” to having a collection of emotional support dildos (ESDs) like it was the most natural thing in the world. I loved how Liam secretly amassed a collection of Bash’s clothes because he adored having them - and Bash loved seeing him wear them just as much.
Bash’s internal battle between hating relationship stuff like snuggling and slowly realising he loves every single thing about it with Liam was perfectly done. It was such a joy watching him fall deeper, despite himself.
Bash’s complicated relationship with his adoptive parents gave him his tough exterior and refusal to let people get close. Liam also has a complicated relationship with his father, marked by expectations and disappointment that shaped his insecurities. Their family dynamics moulded Bash and Liam into the people they are - Bash, fiercely guarded and independent, and Liam, sweet and vulnerable. In Liam, Bash finds someone worth letting his walls down for, while Liam finds the unconditional support and love he’s always craved, making them the ideal complement to each other.
I loved Baby, he is an absolute star! His sassy attitude steals the few scenes he’s in, and I’m eager to learn more about him.
