Read this not realising it’s the first book in a trilogy so was a bit stunned at the abrupt ending.
The author does a lovely job of a creating a beautiful depiction of magic and a magical world different from the likes of Harry Potter but just as immersive and enticing.
There’s a few mysterious at the centre of the plot and I wish there’d been more time to carefully unravel all the threads, the last few chapters felt rushed and for a 500 page book there was time.
Be interesting to see what happens with the serious. There’s now a novella on one of the supporting characters, who I liked a lot but found her a bit cliche in character.
