The Tower of Swallows
by Andrzej Sapkowski
A new low for the series. Listen, I want to like these books, and at times I do, but if I had to count the amount of interesting moments in Tower of Swallows, I would only be able to use one hand.
Some of the scenes with Ciri are decent at best. The rest of the book is a dreadful slog. Names are thrown out with no introduction or development. I have no idea if I’m supposed to care about the majority of the plot or cast. It just feels vapid and nonsensical. It even pivots to the first-person completely at random with no discernible purpose.
I won’t call any book boring, but this comes damn close. It just felt like a waste of time.
