The Compound by S.A. Bodeen
3.0

Want a quick read that doesn't make a lot of sense in places but definitely creates a menacing feeling? Like surly teenagers who have to come to terms with their mistakes and end up redeemed and heroic? Are mysteries your favorite reads? The Compound might be for you.

Billionaire Rex Yanakakis hurries his family - most of them, anyway - to a secret underground bunker as nuclear war is only moments away. The lavish compound is meant to be self-sustainable for the next fifteen years. Six years into their "stay", life is as normal for the Yanakakis family as can be expected. But things are not quite right. Rex is acting strangely, and Eli, Therese (his sister), and Clea (his mom)are suddenly suspicious.

Contaminated flour. Dead livestock. Real Monets. The Supplements. Wifi on, wifi off. Cake CD. Turducken. Nesting dolls.

Random? Yes. Power hungry? Yes. Quick pacing? Yes. To read? Maybe.
