I have no idea what I just read, but I'm not sure I care. The plot is impossible to follow (a cat-human wants to kill a vampire countess?) but the images stand on their own as one of the creepiest, most beautiful works I've ever seen. It was such great, gothic horror that made brilliant use of red, white and black. And it was extremely gay, which doesn't hurt.
