The River Is Waiting by Wally Lamb

emotional sad

4.5

What a tear-jerker. Lamb takes you on an emotional ride through tragedy, grief, incarceration, and the search for redemption. The book doesn’t really take you into the depths of a recovering addict (though the reader sees a traumatic childhood with an abusive father), though you get a grim look at the consequences of addiction and penitentiary systems.

I hope Jeremy Sisto does more audiobooks.
