Such a gut wrenching read.

So many things to praise about this book, and such an interesting example of a narrator who is completely accustomed to the world they exist in, but still manage to convey the horror of it. Even though the audience can say ‘why don’t they resist!’ we can understand from their upbringing and the narrative that they all accept it without critical thinking or little questioning.

Such an interesting study in regret and missed opportunities and grief. I was thinking about this for a week afterwards.
