I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

The audiobook is narrated by the author, and I highly recommend reading the book that way. I was really struck by how well McCurdy was able to capture her own thought processes as a child, and how, from that context, everything her mother did didn't register as abuse. It's a difficult book that deals with some heavy topics, so definitely check out content warnings before deciding if you want to read this or not. There were a lot of moments where I had to pause the audiobook to process what I was listening to, because wtaf. McCurdy also has a real way with words, and despite the heavy subjects manages to add some humor in between the punches.
Graphic: Cancer, Child abuse, Eating disorder, Toxic relationship, and Death of parent
