So, there were things I liked/found clever. I highlighted a lot of stuff, but I'm not sure if it's me thinking it's all profound, or me going "wait wat" - I followed this book with another litfic novella that blew my socks off, so that might have affected my rating of this one somewhat. It's thought provoking, but I actually think that making it "timeless" actually cemented it as a mid 20th century vibe for me. Felt very 1950's/60's to me.
