Is it the usual second-book syndrome? Well, it is a bit. I enjoyed the first book in the series and wanted to continue to book 2 immediately. This one was good, but it didn't grip my attention like the first one. It was a bit slower, as it almost always is with the second book in the series. There weren't any big revelations, but still, it was interesting.

I was a bit annoyed with the FMC in this installment and her continuous refusal to accept feelings, especially when it comes to relations. She did grow as a character, but maybe I expected more. The MMC is your typical dark, possessive one who falls first, but he actually made a more significant growth, in my opinion, at least.

The book does end on a cliffhanger, so I do wanna continue the series and see what happens next :)
