This book was definitely cute and addictive, I wouldn’t say it was very unique or deep. It pretty much followed a standard rom-com trope, but when you’re in the mood for something light and airy that you can read quickly, it does a good job. It was very predictable.
I like the banter between Olive and Adam the most, I thought it was pretty witty. And as someone who experienced a bit of the academic world, I could relate to a lot of her anxieties. The toxic male environment was something that could have been explored more, to make more of a statement and become more powerful literature, but of course that would have changed the whole genre and tone.
