This was good fun! I had to remind myself several times that it was written in the 60s because some of the language was a little archaic, but it was still an interesting medical thriller with lots of twists and turns. The medical writing was so proficient that when I found out Crichton had an M.D. I was like "oh...that makes sense." There was a level of fluency and a lack of explanations (besides the footnotes, which I enjoyed) which really made the characters believable. Surprisingly pro-choice and liberal for its time, which was a pleasant surprise.
