I've never read anything of Leigh Bardugo before and I'd say this is a good start.
I cannot say I "loved" the characters. They were all flawed beings, ugly and beautiful. I was intrigued, enthralled perhaps with their desires and ambitions. But I could not love them, which was a good thing. If I had loved then, I would have been disappointed by the ending. I would've cried abput the lack of romance, rainbows and fluffy ever afters. Here, I could enjoy the ending and take it as it was. Eternal and ephemeral as the miracles remembered.
