I started on this book on the third-last day of my first Camino. I was initially a little disappointed in the first few chapters, since he took the bus quite often. But his story grew on me, and I loved reading about the wacky characters and beautiful friendships that characterized his Camino. It’s fascinating to read travel stories before the ubiquity of smartphones. Also kinda nice to identify similarities with my own experience.
