Burn Down, Rise Up by Vincent Tirado
5.0

This book held my attention from beginning to end; I didn't want to stop reading. I thought it did a fantastic job of merging real-world history with horror, and I thought the characters and their relationships were equally compelling. Everything felt real, and Raquel is definitely one of my favorite YA protagonists. This book also had such a strong theme of community right from the dedication page, which I absolutely loved. Literally my one complaint is the rules of the Echo sometimes seemed unclear, and I had to reread certain parts to see if I misunderstood, but I want to be very clear that this is a nitpicky complaint, not an overarching, distracting flaw. It had no impact on the story itself or my overall enjoyment.
