The Perfect Girl by Gilly Macmillan

3.0

Had I have not read and enjoyed What She Knew prior to reading this, perhaps I would have liked The Perfect Girl more than I did. But, in comparison, it is lacking the complexity, the character development, and fluidity of What She Knew. This was a quick thriller, with an intriguing ending, but too much superfluousness throughout--why did the relationship between her aunt and attorney happen? It added nothing to the story. And his illness? The unnecessary violent scene while she was in juvenile detention didn't seem to add either depth to her character or the plot. This was okay, though certainly not great.
