Club Dead

I'm really liking this series, god knows why anybody's bothering with that Twilight shit. Sookie is such a strong character, but not overly so, and she's so easy to identify with - even though she's about 7 years older than I am. Although I have to admit that Bill is just as obnoxious, overprotective and emotionally fucked as Edward Cullen. *le sigh*
I'm hoping the next few books take us back to Bon Temps, because I'm kind of missing the antics with Sam and the Merlotte's staff, although venturing into Jackson turned up a few interesting characters such as Alcide. I was so amused that Robert Edgington's crew threw a big party for Bubba/Elvis, I still find it incredibly lulzy that anybody could coin the idea of Elvis being a mentally retarded vampire with a penchant for catblood.
Hoping there's more Eric in the next few books, I suppose it's developing into a love triangle similar to the Edward/Jacob one and I'm hoping Eric wins. I liked the brief introduction of the goblin in this book, and I'm intrigued as to the existence of other mythical creatures.
The only thing I'm not really liking at the moment is that the end of every book so far ends up with Sookie battered and bruised, moping around the house and wincing at the pain. It'd be really great if the end of at least one of the books in the series didn't end up with Sookie's face being mangled, or even ending on a lighter note. =/
