I read this novella as part of Chaos Weekend for Get a Clue Readathon.

Overall I thought this novella was fine. I enjoy Arwen and Laura perspective and I really enjoyed that there were new events took place within this world. I don't think it did all that much for the overall plot for this world...but I don't think that is the point of this novella.

I think Arwen and Laura are trying to prove themselves to their people. They have every right not to trust Laura after everything that happened because of her actions in the first 2 books. She is recovering from an infection in her leg that was so bad she almost died...and people on the island keep trying to kill her.

There is a moment in a meeting where one of the generals tell Laura that in order to protect herself she should produce an Heir and prove to her people that she is true to her people. Laura kinda freaks out about this and Arwen says wherever you go I go. If you don't want kids thats fine we will leave and start a new life its your choice...

Laura doesn't want to leave and she proves herself to her people again...but not in the way you think.

I do plan on continuing this series in the future but I think I am going to spread these books out a lot more so that I hopefully I don't feel like I am reading the same book just from another perspective. I do think these last 2 stories were very much set up books and I think Book 4 is going to be action packed!
