Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

2.0

im not entirely sure where i stand on this book (hence the 'idk-how-to-feel' shelf). i feel like a lot happened, but it also... didn't??
there was information reveled only in, like, the last 50 pgs of the book, while the beginning-middle was just.. completely useless and unimportant except for 2 or 3 details thrown in - whose only purpose was to reveal something in the end - which wasn't even that good.
nothing was solved, we don't know who the murderer is, what the motive is, what happened, etc. mystery books typically end with revealing something, right? but not this one.

i might pick up the second book only because im mad we didnt find out who the murderer is in the end of the first one.
there's also the slight possibility my hopes were crushed bc i was comparing the book to [b:A Good Girl's Guide to Murder|40916679|A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, #1)|Holly Jackson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1545494980l/40916679._SY75_.jpg|63791847] the entire time. [spoiler alert]: it did not compare.
