Anarchy in High Heels: A Memoir by Denise Larson
5.0
Can I be a Nicklette?!
Seriously, what a timely read! Women are constantly being persuaded to mold themselves into various social constructs. We are constantly being told who we should and should not be. So why not turn that rhetoric on its head and do a little dance?
By opening her memoir, I felt like I stepped into the 1970’s and lived vicariously through these incredible women.
Larson openly shares her story without flinching. She not only created a fantastically campy women’s troupe, but also bulldozed one social expectation after another. Through trials, triumphs, and a revolving door of theaters, Larson exposes how rewarding following your passion can be.
